ENTRY DEADLINE :
The deadline to enter a mule for the Select Mule Sale is April 1, 2008. The consignment sheet must be filled out and returned with both a check for $100.00 for each mule consigned and a photo of each mule. Videos of mules may be requested. A 6-month Coggins and a current Health Certificate for each mule must be turned into the office upon arrival at the auction grounds. Also upon arrival, a fee of $5.00 dollars per mule will be collected for the Brand Inspection, in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado. All mules must be delivered to the Montrose County Fairgrounds no later than 12 o’clock PM on Friday, June 6, 2008. All mules will be inspected for quality, condition, visible soundness and any signs of drug or medication use, upon arrival, and may be rejected from the auction if not suitable for sale.
COMMISSION OF SALES :
There will be a charge of $ 75.00 for no sale. All mules must go through the sales ring and no private sales will be allowed. All sales must go through the auction office.
GUARANTEE :
Each mule will be guaranteed sound by the auction company. Mules bought at the auction and not considered sound, may be returned to Montrose Fairgrounds, an inspected by the auction company's veterinarian will be made to determine the soundness of the mule. All mules must be returned within 24 hours of the sale day. Upon determining that the mule is not sound the buyer will receive a full refund. The seller will not be paid for the mule, but seller must pay the commission on the original selling price. All guarantees between the buyer and seller must be announced from the auction block. No guarantees will be expressed or implied by the auctioneers, ring men, or the auction company. If a mule is returned seller must make every effort to pick up the returned mule in a timely manner, or daily stall and feed charges will occur. Each mule purchased must be removed from the fairgrounds on the day of the auction. If mules are to be picked up at a later date, arrangements must be made in advance to have the mules boarded as they are not to be left at Montrose County Fairgrounds.
BUYERS RESPONSIBILITIES :
The buyer assumes full ownership of the mule from the time they become the successful bidder and is responsible for feeding, watering and all of the care of the mule. Hay will be available for sale at the Montrose County Fairgrounds, for your convenience. The buyers must notify Carlton’s Montrose Mule Days within 24 hours of any dissatisfaction or concerns. Buyers will be charged an 8% buyers premium for each sale to be paid at the sales office.
LOAD-OUT :
Buyers must pay for all mules on the day of the sale. Upon payment, buyers will be issued a paid receipt, which must be shown to the auction personnel before leaving the premises. If the mules are to be picked by a transport company, drivers must have the proper gate pass, or gate passes may be left at the auction office with load out instructions. Mules must be removed from the Fairgrounds on the day of the sale, or the buyer must make arrangements in advance to have the mules boarded and cared for at another location.
LIABILITIES :
The consigner releases Carlton's Montrose Mule Days and its employees or representatives of the Montrose County Fairgrounds, the City of Montrose and its employees or representatives, and all spectators from any responsibility for accidents that may occur to the mules by fire, theft, injury or death to any human or animal in any manner. All buyers, consigners or spectators are cautioned to exercise care while attending auctions or rodeo, and enter the premises at their own risk. The above named parties shall not be liable for injuries sustained by anyone attending the auction or rodeo. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
